Smiles of gratitude ... Mereani Vugona, left, Priscilla Elizabeth Ralulu, centre, and Mosese Ovini Bokini with their new uniforms and bags.  A TOTAL of 46 primary school students from Vunato settlement began the new school year with new uniforms, bags, shoes and exercise books after they were visited by the Art of Living Foundation in Lautoka.

The group gave special attention to the children living on the outskirts of Lautoka whose homes were also badly affected during Tropical Cyclone Evan.

“We generally supply the students with stationery and school supply for everything that they would need for their education.”

Mr Chandra said more than 100 students had been assisted by the group over the past few years. Katarina Ralulu, the mother of Class Five student of Ahmadiyya Muslim Primary, Priscilla Ralulu, said they were grateful for the assistance from the group.

“It was timely help for us because after Tropical Cyclone Evan, many of us found it hard to buy stationery for our children,” she said.
“They provided uniforms and school bags for us while Save the Children Fiji supplied us with stationery, with that help, all we had to look for was money to pay for our children’s school fees,” said Mrs Ralulu.
